DoveLewis specializes in Emergency & Critical Care
In today’s world, medical emergencies occur more frequently than we would like. When pets get hurt in an accident, or they have a life-threatening medical condition, they need emergency care just like their human guardians. The DoveLewis team of board certified veterinarians and skilled technicians are on site 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide proficient, compassionate care. Emergency Care
Emergency care involves stabilizing the patient and may include placing intravenous catheters, administering IV fluids, pain medications, oxygen therapy and sometimes blood or plasma transfusions. Our in-house laboratory, radiology and ultrasound capabilities enable us to get crucial diagnostic information very quickly. Our Blood Bank program guarantees that our canine and feline patients have access to a safe and adequate blood supply. Additional surgeons and technical staff are on call should the need arise.
Critical Care
DoveLewis is fully equipped and staffed to provide state-of-the-art intensive care medicine. Critical patients are closely monitored with continuous EKGs, oxygen support, fluid pumps, blood pressure monitoring and other advanced procedures. We employ three Board Certified Critical Care Specialists; the most of any hospital in Oregon. All DoveLewis patients receive round-the-clock observation and treatment. Once the patient is stabilized and out of immediate danger, he or she can either return home or go to your regular veterinarian.
