Anastasia: A Pet Loss Story
The following pet loss story was sent to DoveLewis Pet Loss Support Director Enid Traisman from Michael Christiansen. Please feel free to submit your own pet loss story here.
Seventeen years ago, beautiful Anastasia was surrendered to Dove Lewis; she was in bad shape.
But,before she went off to the shelter, away from our sanctuary, I fostered her. She recovered well, and grew up well — her behavior, was that of a true cat. Self-perpetuating …
• Always wanting fresh water, even if the bowl was fresh, she’d go and sit on
the tub’s rim, and wait for her cup of water — she was patient
• She lived with a dog, three cats, and my wife, and me —she ran the household
• Her discipline had balance; her problem solving, had integrity; and
her expressions, had love
Beautiful, Anastasia, pasted away, at 17-years-old, of renal failure
