I am often contacted by members of the local and national media about the program, and the services and resources we offer to the community. All our services are unique in their own way and are aimed at helping pet owners navigate the grief associated with losing a beloved companion animal and healing. From pet loss support groups that meet four times a month in DoveLewis’ Board Room to memorial art therapy workshops I facilitate monthly in our Community Room, our services have seen growth over the span of the program’s 27 year existence.
I was recently contacted by Spot Magazine, a local publication distributed throughout Oregon and SW Washington with the goal of providing pet guardians and animal lovers a one-stop resource for information, ideas and events of interest, about our program. I had the pleasure of speaking with Nikki Jardin, Spot Magazine’s Managing Editor, about the grief support services our program provides. The result of our discussion was an article in Spot Magazine’s January 2013 issue. An online version of that article can be found on Spot’s website. >>Click here to read the article.
I welcome everyone to take advantage of our program’s services. Death is a natural part of life, but it’s not an easy one. Our program is here for you. I invite you to join us for a support group meeting, an art therapy workshop, or feel free to reach out to me personally through the 24-hour message line: 503.234.2061 or write to me with your questions via my advice column right here on this blog.
