Skittish; A Pet Loss Story
The following pet loss story was shared with DoveLewis Pet Loss Support Director Enid Traisman from Scott Thomsen. Please feel free to submit your own pet loss story here
she was A main coon cat that was born in my backyard and was sick that had to be taken care of as A special needs pet. I cleaned her up and got her care and after she survived that I kept her in my home for the following thirteen years knowing well that the vet told me it would be A rough time and shorter run for her, in ten or twelve years it would return and someday she would not survive. I loved little peanut anyway, that’s what I called her when she was small and she got big when she was two. After I had her altered. But she and I shared nearly everything even my bed.Sometimes I’d split A can of tuna fish with her at lunch. When she was 11 I saw her get sick yet again and thought I was gonna loose her but didn’t and after that one it was A painful reminder and notice for me. pretty much after that one esp. the last year of her life there were three more visits to her vet and each one took more time to recover and of course money to help her and finally last Nov. 13’th she had A heart attack and I had her euthanized. and cremated. 2002- 2015
