With COVID-19 precautions colliding with the inevitable baby animal boom that DoveLewis sees each spring, the 24/7 animal hospital is asking the public to help.

Amidst protocol adjustments and a changing economic environment, the local nonprofit is trying to rally Portland’s animal lovers for the future of the hospital’s financial aid programs.

While pleasant for people, warm spring weather can cause major health issues for pets. DoveLewis is reminding pet owners to protect their furry family members as temperatures start to rise.  

On Tuesday afternoon, Marvin hosted 543 unique viewers on Facebook Live for a “read to the dogs” virtual session. More DoveLewis therapy dogs will host sessions this week.

DoveLewis lives up to its mission to care for animals and people with a life-saving equipment loan to a Pacific Northwest hospital.
